In 1950, wearied not to find a suitable lamp to his work station Frenchman Jean-Louis Domecq finally finished his drawings of a lamp which corresponded perfectly to the required conditions and looks. It was simple, robust and articulated in order to adapt any work station. The Signal model is delicate yet robust. Jieldé lamps, Loft, Signal and Augustin, are recognized as being icons of the French industrial arts. Jieldé lamps are manufactured in Lyon France with the same old technique and they all are numbered in order to remain single and unique.
